Lexus introduced the all-new 2011 LX 570 full-size luxury utility vehicle at a press conference in New York International Auto Show 2007. The new third-generation LX features more technological advances to provide added power, luxury, safety, capacity, and both on-and off-road capability over the award-winning LX 470 it replaces.
"The new LX 570 is packed with luxury appointments and seamless technology our buyers expect the Lexus vehicle," said Bob Carter, Lexus Division group vice president and general manager. "Equally important, the new LX 570 sets a high water sign Lexus by providing more on-and off-highway abilities than ever, but to get the number of interior comfort, luxury and ride quality our customers expect. "
LX 570 is equipped with a powerful 5.7-liter V8 that produces 381 horsepower, 110 more than the vehicle is to replace, and more than 400 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a new six-speed sequential-shift automatic transmission designed and built for large tasks. Both the engine and transmission are controlled and combined with sophisticated electronic management systems that help ensure optimal performance and low fuel consumption and emissions at all times. The LX is expected to ULEV II certification.
With its upgraded powertrain, along with a new chassis and suspension, the LX 570 has a towing capacity of 8500 pounds, an improvement of 2,000 from the previous model.
Important updates for the suspension and four-wheel full-time working to raise the LX to new levels of comfort and performance, on-and off-road. Height control electro-hydraulic four-wheel active suspension (AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension is quicker and allows a wider range of adjustment than the system it replaces. The new cross-linked system allows each wheel to react to the driving surface is in contact with and reacts to act opposite wheels. Using a valve at each corner and in the middle of the valve or the master grid suspension system detects the extension or deflection of each of the LX 570 20-inch wheels and counters that the proper response to the opposite wheels.
Intelligence is built on the LX 570 new chassis under the roll and suspension helps reduce body roll that over 30 percent. The system also controls ride height quickly, lowering the start of an average of two inches, and from there, and automatically returns to normal height when the vehicle begins acceleration.
LX 570 also includes a new control function creep to increase the throttle while driving over rough or difficult. When a small range, Scan Control helps maintain appropriate low speeds allowing the driver to concentrate on driving the LX 570 for the desired path. Similar to cruise control to maintain vehicle speed, scan control activated a set of virtual locking differentials to minimize tire slippage and optimize chassis behavior. As control of the body is greatly improved, the possibility of bottoming the LX 570's driving surface is significantly reduced.
The new LX 570 is also involved in the multi-terrain ABS braking system. This new technology is designed to help reduce stopping distances on slippery surfaces such as sand or gravel.
Among the many advanced technologies the LX 570 also offers a new blind spot monitoring function designed to be used in an urban environment, such as removing a garage. The cameras are located in the grille and under the passenger side rear view mirror, the driver can easily check hard-View sites by simply pressing a button on the dashboard and viewing the camera images the navigation screen.
The luxurious style of the new LX 570 emphasizes the Lexus identity by combining the muscular strength and a sense of security expected in a four-wheel-drive utility with the simplistic originality of the theme Lexus L-finesse design, which makes it much more refined and dynamic than its predecessor. The theme of the daring new LX carries over from front to rear with a wide stance and muscular cabin proportions are accented with subtle character lines and luxury touches such as chrome door handles and lists.
Cut the line on the wings of the image increases the performance of the new LX while the wheel arches add an element of ruggedness to its clean profile. The running boards are fitted closer to the body to make it look more integrated.
The style is complemented with features that include adaptive headlights, a power rear door, puddle lamps, headlight washers and a front wiper de-icer.
Comfortable spacious interior
The overall wheelbase of the new LX 570 is equal to its predecessor, helping to maintain its impressive maneuverability. However, interior and exterior length have increased by at least four inches and a width of nearly an inch, creating a more welcoming and comfortable space for up to eight passengers and cargo.
An advanced active safety technologies

In addition to its many standard features and advanced technologies the LX 570 also comes with a host of additional equipment such as front seats climate controlled and heated rear seats, a 19-speaker Mark Levinson audio system with reference surround and a hard disk drive can store up to 2,000 songs, a rear entertainment system with nine-inch screen, the Lexus Intuitive Park Assistance, a first in its class Pre-Collision System with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lexus Link.
