2011 Subaru Forester

Since the new version launched in 2008, the 2011 Subaru Forester has been a huge sales success for Subaru, easily surpassing its predecessor a little awkward in the future. Apart from its regular proportions - the previous version had a greenhouse at the top of a car like the body - the biggest change to the significantly redesigned Forester is roomier in the back seat. Unlike the old foresters, the new version can easily accommodate adult size front and rear.

The 2011 Forester is the third-generation crossover SUV from Subaru. Based on the Impreza platform, the Subaru Forester offers a multi-link rear suspension, fuel electric power steering and Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control.

Offers a standard four-wheel drive, spacious cabin, plenty of space for storage of cargo, a comfortable ride, smooth, and a powerful turbocharged engine, the Forester a heavyweight in a driving power quality and provides a price entry very low, $ 20.495, for the base model. There are three options: 2.5x, 2.5x and 2.5X Premium Limited, each offering more luxury and style as the Forester of the previous year, and the price will increase depending on model and features added in.

The Forester brings a wealth of public services in a reasonably sized space, which allowed him to take his place in the booming small cross on the floor. Not only is there a good space for four people (a bit small for five years), but the cargo area is large, almost in shape, and easy to carry thanks to the low floor height. In standard four-wheel drive in the Forester (like all Subaru), so that there is a price leader, front-wheel drive version. Still, prices are very competitive with the class of just over $ 20,000, surpassing less than $ 30,000.

Dedicated to providing the horizontally opposed boxer engine of more than 40 years, Subaru engineers were determined to use this format for their demonstrated the first diesel engine of the new and improved version of this engine introduced in the spring of 2011.

The desire was to create a lightweight, compact, strong, with reduced vibration, noise and internal friction, and an ultra-low center of gravity, compared with an inline engine. This configuration enhances handling agility and roadholding - especially when combined with Subaru's AWD system Symmetrical All-Wheel-known.

Diesel engine and transmission are not only mounted very low, but also within the wheelbase of the car, which further increases the dynamics of the chassis. The horizontally-opposed pistons effectively eliminates secondary harmonic vibration (vibration with twice the frequency of the motor speed). The crankshaft is short and very rigid, which minimizes vibration noise often present in many other diesel engines.

And the superior balance of the horizontally opposed engine means internal rotational inertia and friction are drastically reduced compared to the in-line engine. Gas friction is also a smaller line with the exceptionally lively and sporting heritage of Subaru.

Cylinder block is a rigid, closed with a lid design with all five main bearings in the block using metal alloy composite supports the strength and endurance. It also enhances refinement, providing a similar thermal expansion as the crankshaft.

A special surface treatment to withstand the pressures of the diesel engine combustion is applied to high-strength high crankshaft, while the improved cylinder heads have rocker arms. In addition, the cam drive is via a chain system that is better able to manage the variations in torque of the diesel engine.

The new version of the BOXER DIESEL employs common-rail fuel injection, a high-pressure fuel is fed before the common rail. This maximizes efficiency, be it power, fuel consumption and emissions.

Diesel Forester boasts a six-speed manual gearbox optimized for relations in a quiet, refined high-speed cruising and flexible low-speed movements. For example, the sixth gear is slightly higher than the fifth Legacy and Outback Boxer diesel generators with a ratio of 0.557:1, produces rpm 31.5 mph / 1,000 for the Subaru Forester 2.0DX when first gear is a lower 3.454:1.

The manual transmission cable using a six-speed gearbox. In addition to giving a coherent answer to insulate transmission and engine vibration, improving refinement.

The petrol models are available with a four-speed automatic transmission. This provides smoother changes with greater sensitivity to the wishes of the driver. It is more efficient, saving fuel, because a slip lock-up device reduces wasted engine revs. In addition, advanced electronics - linked to an electronic throttle - match engine speed with the best equipment for a given situation.

A new feature is "Sport Shift" that allows the driver to choose between "normal", "sport" mode or "manual", allowing them to "tap-shift 'between gears at will.

A sophisticated symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive, low friction, long travel four-wheel independent suspension and low boxer engine center of gravity, while contributing to the reputation of the Subaru Dynamic Chassis exceptional.

It provides a highly absorbent ride with precise control on the exact geometry of the existing road surface irregular linear backed by extremely responsive steering and handling.

Rear Multi-link, double wishbone suspension system to free up more luggage space thanks to the resistance than the previous arrangement the rear pillar. And since it is connected to the subframe in the bushes, moving to install himself in the plan, the road noise is reduced.

To encourage comfort, springs and rear shocks are mounted behind the centerline of the rear wheels treadmill moves backwards. The rear anti-roll bar as standard.
